Catalytic Performance for CO Methanation over Ni/MCM-41 Catalyst in a Slurry-Bed Reactor

The Ni-based catalyst has been intensively studied for CO methanation. Here, MCM-41 is selected as support to prepare xNi/MCM-41 catalysts with various Ni contents and the catalytic performance methanation in a slurry-bed reactor investigated under different reaction conditions. conversion gradually increases temperature or pressure rises. As content increases, specific surface area pore volume of decrease, crystallite sizes metallic increase, while metal active atom numbers firstly increase then slightly decrease. 20Ni/MCM-41 20 wt% exhibits highest activity methanation, initial CH4 yield rate well correlated numbers. characterization spent shows that agglomeration accountable deactivation.
